After 15 years in HR, in 2020 I decided to follow my dream of becoming a career coach. Combining my experience in executive coaching, HR and employability, I help people achieve ambitious career goals, one step at a time. I have been running career transition programmes at Richmond Adult College for the last year, both for under and over 40s.

All my career coaching programmes are designed around your individual coaching needs – your career goals, any challenges you are facing. We will be looking at any internal or external factors you can bring into the coaching process.

You will be provided with a flexible, relationship – we will talk about your different options, look at your CV, coach you to improve your interview preparation and advise on potential access to accredited training. We will work together to understand your challenges and discover the opportunities to find a new career.
How to start your Own Business
On a one-to-one basis, I will assist you in understanding –
- How to prepare and develop a business plan and develop a pitch to present your idea to potential investors;
- How to identify possible funding options, sources of professional advice and support for new business, addressing you to specific organisations;
- How to pick the correct forms of business for your company ( self-employed, limited company, etc) and to understand rules and regulations around Taxes, NI and self-assessment;
- What are different marketing techniques used in small business including branding, internet marketing and how to use social media;
- Financial planning, including cash flow forecasting, and understanding how to calculate the break even point for your business.

I embarked on a start-up business course without any prior experience and knowledge of business. After 25 years in the medical profession, I just wanted to follow a dream of possibly opening an independent bookshop in another country.
The course was run by Deborah who in four weeks taught us how to write a business plan and guided and inspired the whole class. By the end, not only was I able to give the class a pitch for my business, I knew exactly what steps I needed to take my idea of my business forward.
